Children may need Speech-Language Therapy for a number of reasons, including but not limited to: hearing impairments, cognitive or other developmental delays, weak oral muscles, autism, respiratory problems, swallowing disorders, etc. By assessing the speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills of children, our speech-language pathologists can determine what types of communication problems exist and the best way to treat these challenges.
Our therapists use language intervention activities such as the use of pictures, books, objects, communication boards, or ongoing events to stimulate language development and may use different models of practice... Aplied Behavior Analysis, Greenspan: floortime method, Prompt therapy techniques,Oral-Motor, Sensory Integration,Lidcombe studdering treatment method as well as Articulation Therapy (sound production exercises having the therapist model correct sounds and syllables for a child, often during play activities).
