Thais M. Amaro received her Bachelors degree in speech and Language Pathology at University of Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico and her Masters degree at NOVA Southeastern University in Florida. She worked as a Bilingual-Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped in the state of New Your with children between age 3-5 providing speech and language therapy to students with various communication disorders such as fluency, articulation, receptive language and expressive language. She also worked in the school system with students from k-12 at the Jersey City school district. Throughout her graduate studies she had the opportunity to work at the medical day care center at Children's Specialized Hospital. Currently, Thais is working in early intervention with children birth to three providing screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, counseling, and follow-up services for disorders speech, which includes articulation, fluency, receptive and expressive language, swallowing disabilities, cognitive aspect of communication and oropharyngeal and related functions. In addition, she educated and supports family members and other communications partners of individual with communications and swallowing disabilities.
